The Calgary Police Services recently performed a security walkthrough of the Arriva Building at our request, in order to provide advice on improving security measures.
One of the key recommendations was to change the timing on the Laneway/P1 overhead doors and the P1/P2 overhead doors. Our doors are currently set to start closing 15 seconds after the vehicle entering/exiting has cleared the door. This provides ample opportunity for criminals to gain access to our building in an unauthorized fashion.
The norm followed for this timing is 5 seconds, which reduces the opportunity for tailgaters (whether in a vehicle or not), to gain access to the building.
The timing will be changed to 5 seconds on both the Laneway/P1 doors (entry and exit) this:
